The journey to opening Millstadt Brewing began with a passion for crafting beer at home. As my recipes earned recognition and awards over the years, a dream started brewing.

In fall 2018, two pivotal moments converged: an unexpected departure from my marketing career and the availability of a cherished 1940s service station in my hometown of Millstadt, Illinois. With encouragement from my wife, we decided to transform this challenge into an opportunity.

The building, just a mile from where my parents ran their butcher shop for over 37 years, became a labor of love. Together with family and friends, we renovated the historic space, breathing new life into its walls while preserving its character. On October 3rd, 2019, we opened our doors to the community.

As Millstadt's hometown brewery, our philosophy is rooted in community enrichment, local sourcing, and crafting thoughtful, rotating beer selections that showcase our distinctive brewing style. We take pride in our diverse portfolio, particularly our exceptional lagers, hazy IPAs, and signature whiskey barrel-aged creations.

We're not just brewing beer – we're continuing a tradition of local business that runs deep in our family and our town. Stop by, share a pint, and become part of our story.

Hope to see you soon!

Where did you get the name “Millpond Brewing”?

The town of Millstadt has strong roots as a farming and milling community. At one time the town boasted three mills, and in a rare arrangement, these three mills shared the same millpond. In communities such as Millstadt, the millpond was a place for fun. In the summertime residents of the community would swim, fish, have picnics, and hold family gatherings at the millpond. In the wintertime they would skate on the frozen water and sled on its banks. Millponds became the first, defacto, city parks.

Will you have food?

We hope to offer food soon through Millpond by leasing a space to a well-established, much-loved restaurant.  In the meantime, we schedule food trucks regularly (typically Friday and Saturday) and you can view the full food truck schedule here: millpondbrewing.com/events
In addition, you can bring in food, including food from any of Millstadt’s local establishments (Ott’s, Mariachi’s, Breadeaux, Papa Vitos, Smokin K’s, Reinhardt's, sorry if we missed anyone).

Do you have a private party space?

We do have a private party space inside and beer garden available to reserve.  Please email info@millpondbrewing.com for information.

Are dogs allowed in your beer garden?

Yes, please bring your dogs to enjoy our beer garden with you, as long as they are well behaved, remain on a leash, and you clean up after them. Please note our outdoor ground covering is recycled tires, so we highly encourage you to monitor your pups so they don’t consume any of the mulch.
